When we created the basic EcoRic, our goal was global: to give farmers an affordable tool for restoring soil health. And it works. However, field trials conducted in 2025 revealed an important nuance: versatility is good, but when it comes to saving a specific crop from an epidemic, you need a "sniper shot," not "suppressive fire."
It was then, while analyzing the state of coffee plantations (specifically the issue of rust and fungal damage to berries), that we decided on a strategic expansion. We have launched the EcoRic PRO line—a series of specialized biological preparations. The first product in this series is EcoRic PRO: Coffee.
Why Does Coffee Need Special Protection? (2025 Insights)
During the 2025 tests, we encountered mass contamination of coffee trees with fungal diseases. Standard fungicides often show reduced effectiveness due to pathogen resistance (habituation). Furthermore, coffee is a crop where residual pesticides directly affect the quality of the bean and its value on the stock exchange.
We needed a solution that:
- Takes into account the specific vegetation cycle of the coffee tree.
- Is completely safe for the future harvest.
EcoRic PRO: Coffee — How Does It Differ from the Basic Version?
The new formula is not just a "label change." We have refined the microbiological composition based on the best scientific practices (including the application of Lactobacillus plantarum):
- Increased Concentration of Antagonist Strains. The PRO version contains a higher count of bacteria that secrete natural antibiotics (nisin, lactolin). They aggressively destroy the membranes of the fungi that cause coffee rust.
- Double Action: Leaf + Root. The Coffee formula is optimized for foliar spraying. We added natural adhesives (tackifiers) that allow beneficial bacteria to stay on the glossy coffee leaves longer, creating a "living shield."
- pH Adaptation. Coffee soils often have specific acidity levels. The strains in EcoRic PRO: Coffee are selected to reproduce most actively in this exact environment.
Mechanism of Action: Biology vs. Chemistry
Just like in the basic product, we use the principle of competitive exclusion, but on a new level:
- Blocking Pathogen Nutrition. Beneficial bacteria colonize the surface of the leaf and root faster than harmful fungi, leaving them without resources.
- Anaerobic Operation. The bacteria are facultative anaerobes—they penetrate micro-cracks in the bark and dense soil where disease pathogens usually hide, destroying them right there.
The Future of the EcoRic Line
The release of EcoRic PRO: Coffee is just the beginning. We understand that every crop (whether tea, flowers, or avocados) has its own "pain points." The EcoRic development team continues its research to present specialized solutions for other key crops in the near future.
We remain true to the principles of organic farming, but now we are making it professionally precise.
